Maruti Suzuki Fronx 2023 has officially launched in India. The Baleno-based coupe crossover was unveiled, and now people can reserve one for a mere Rs 11,000. The Fronx’s base price is Rs 86,000 higher than the Baleno’s, but the high-end model is significantly more expensive due to its turbo-petrol engine.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx Engine
The Fronx’s return to service with the 1.0-liter Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine is reflected in the vehicle’s powertrain. The Baleno RS was the first vehicle to feature this engine when it debuted in 2017, but due to low sales and the transition to BS6, the model was eventually phased out. Both a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission can be found mated to the Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine, which generates 100 horsepower and 147 Newton-meters of torque. The Fronx is the only Maruti Suzuki on the market today that offers a turbo-petrol motor.
There is also a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 90 hp and is used in several different Maruti models. This powertrain can be had with either a manual transmission or an automatic one with five speeds.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx Specifications And Design
The Fronx’s cabin is styled similarly to that of the Baleno hatchback, with a large, free-standing 9-inch touchscreen serving as the focal point. The hatchback seats are upholstered in blue and black, while the compact SUVs are upholstered in brown and black. There are multiple displays on the dashboard, and Maruti has kept the traditional HVAC knobs and dials.
The top variant Fronx boasts a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 360-degree camera, a heads-up display, wireless charging, connected car technology, and 6 airbags. The Fronx’s 17-inch multi-spoke alloys are exclusive to it and not found on any other Maruti vehicle.
The Fronx borrows some styling cues from Maruti Suzuki’s high-end SUV the Grand Vitara, including an upright nose and a split headlamp. It also has beefier, chrome-plated front and rear bumpers.
The Fronx takes its cues for its overall shape and design from the Baleno hatchback, which it resembles in places like the sloping roof and rising waistline. The Fronx shares the Baleno’s dimensions of 3,995 millimeters in length, 1,550 millimeters in height, and 1,765 millimeters in width.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx Colors And Variants
Arctic White, Earthern Brown, Opulent Red, Splendid Silver, Bluish Black, Celestial Blue, and Grandeur Grey are just some of the seven color options for the new Fronx, which comes in five different trim levels Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha. Additionally, Earthen Brown, Opulent Red, and Splendid Silver are offered as two-tone alternatives.
